Our Emergent Curriculum is Reggio Emilia influenced, providing rich opportunities for early learning that best occurs when children and educators collaborate. Environments based on children’s interests deepen real opportunities for children to play for pleasure and within that play children learn and practice every day.
From birth, children demonstrate an enthusiasm to learn, be creative, and possess an extreme curiosity about their world. Our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, interactive and stimulating learning environment which encourages each child to develop their social, emotional, physical, creative, and intellectual skills to their full potential.
Learning through play is a vital part of our curriculum.
Play is an integral part of a child’s growth. It has many benefits. Children learn, think, imagine, make up stories, and communicate with each other and the world around them through play.
Our key learning areas form the foundation of our curriculum at Kids Avenue and are designed to support our educations in developing and effective learning environment. We want to provide a range of learning opportunities to enhance children’s learning in all age groups, both indoors and outdoors.
We are intentional about our interactions, language, conversations, teaching practice and relationships with children, and have developed the following areas:
inspired approach to learning:
Our curriculum has been influenced by the Reggio Emilia Approach to early childhood education and is developed in accordance with the government’s Early Learning and Care Framework (FLIGHT). Both are a child-centered approach to learning and value the child as capable and rich with knowledge.
We believe that the first place of learning for all children is their home. That is why we value you as the first teacher of your child and build on that learning and learn from you in helping raise your child.
Our team of professional and dedicated educators has developed programs that provide a balance of both structured and unstructured learning based on a curriculum that revolves around the interests of each child.
Our programs are especially developed for group and individual, one-on-one learning activities so that our children learn to be able to work and play in cooperative group settings as well as on their own.
